This course is designed to give group fitness instructors and personal trainers the basic knowledge of Pilates exercises and general Pilates philosophies for use on the Pilates Cadillac/Tower. The 2-day format serves as education time and practice time. A comprehensive manual/study guide is included in the course. Students obtain a thorough understanding of the beginner Pilates Cadillac/Tower, including regressions and progressions for various fitness levels. Postural assessment and alignment will be addressed throughout the course as the fundamental principle behind the exercises. Students will be given enough information to teach a beginner/intermediate Pilates Level I Cadillac/Tower session or group class but emphasis is also placed on developing teaching skills, hands-on training competence and postural self-improvement for demonstration purposes. A second course of Cadillac/Tower exercises covers the intermediate exercises and should follow this course within 3-6 months, after which time the student completes their apprentice requirements (see equipment training brochure) and attends a Review and testing weekend for their teaching credentials. The student shall not be considered a qualified Pilates instructor until such time that all courses, exams and apprenticeships have been successfully completed.
Mat Foundations serves as a pre-requisite for this workshop. Students with Mat Level I training from another organization may be approved to take a PIA Equipment course upon completion of our Bridging Course — a home-study program that ensures all participants have the same foundational knowledge prior to a workshop ($49 includes testing). CANCELLATION POLICY: All sales are final, however transfers are allowed for a $49 processing fee.
SCHEDULE CHANGES: PIA has the right to cancel or re-schedule any advertised workshop for any reason. Students will be offered free transfers or refunds for any workshops cancelled by PIA.
